Book Review #94: Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

(Finished Reading: 06/07/16
My 9th book this year.)

Cinder the cyborg, stepsister to Pearl and Peony, stepdaughter to Adri. Cinder is the only one who works in the family, but all her earnings go to Adri for running the house and for expenditure. But she is disgusted by the mere sight of the cyborg. Cinder is a well known mechanic, although many come to her for repairs, many people dislike her kind.

Prince Kai has a very sentimental android that is severely damaged. He has heard of Cinder’s skills and turns up to drop the job on her.

Peony is Cinder’s only human companion. She has caught a deadly plague and is quarantined and awaiting her death. Adri being quick to blame Cinder for everything that goes wrong, signs her up for voluntary research on an antidote for the plague.

Cinder is taken by force to the Royal research laboratory for testing. Dr Erland seems to be untrustworthy and Cinder’s cyborg senses detect all his lies. He tells her she is immune to the plague and she is somehow able to fight off the disease that is injected into her.

Prince Kai is waiting for the plague antidote so his father can be saved. He bumps into Cinder at the laboratory. Dr Erland continues his lies and deceit even to Prince Kai.

Cinder finds out she is very useful and special for once in her life yet she knows she cannot trust the doctors words.

My Thoughts:
I absolutely loved this book. I have never read a cyborg book before and would never think I would enjoy it. This book has been a very interesting read and a very enjoyable story.

I loved the way Prince Kai’s character is so innocent yet he knows what he must do for his kingdom.
I love how Cinder has attitude and although she is treated with no respect and is constantly working for nothing she still has the strength in her remember her place in the house and in society.
Cinder somehow has a great relationship with Prince Kai that I would love to see more of. I love the way he enjoys her company, although Cinder loves his attention, she knows she cannot be with him.

This book is highly recommended and I am desperately wanting to start on book 2 of the series Lunar Chronicles.
