NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

A mighty challenge…
50,000 words in 30 days and 30 nights.

Anyone who wants a career as a novellist should have a go at this.

The idea is to start from scratch on 1st November and ending by 30th November before the stroke of midnight.

Sounds like it will be a bit of hard work for November. I’d love to have a go at this but I definately wont be able to catch up on this year’s entry. At least I can now help spread the word and can try this challenge sometime in the near future!

NaNoWriMo is supposed to be both fun and productive for all participants. Every writer has the opportunity to discuss with other challengers on the forums anything and everything to do with writing. Writers can support and encourage one another to write, write and write a little more.

This website helps push people to their limit. Those who persevere will be rewarded with their completed novel, their name will be added to the “winners page” online, they will receive a certificate along with a web badge for proof of completion.

Those who don’t quite get to the end will have at least made progress on a piece of work and quite possibly have made many new friends within the writers community.

Happy Writing and Goodluck on reaching the finish line for all of you who are busy typing and writing away this month.

  1. You should take part in Camp NaNoWriMo too. I think they take place in both June and August, and follow the same basic principle of NaNoWriMo. The only downside is that less people seem to do it, which means less support…I personally have never managed to complete a Camp.

But, they’re something to aim for if you started planning for a novel 🙂
